4- 1 GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Except for the method of aligning the front propeller shaft to the front U-joint as outlined in Par. 4-2, below, the clutch, synchromesh transmission and U- joint for 1958 are unchanged from 1957.
Replacing the hole in one propeller shaft spline and corresponding line on the rear face of the front U-joint rear journal will be a blind spline. The propeller shaft can only be installed in the correct relationship with the U-joint. Thus, the yokes of the front and rear U-joints will always be in proper alignment. With this arrangement, the possibility of vibration due to misalignment of yokes is eliminated.
