12-1 FRAME
Frames for 1957 have been entirely redesigned. Lowering of the overall car height has been accomplished through newly designed side rails and cross-members. The new design incorporates added strength where required for the new body.
The front cross-member has been revised to accommodate the new ball-joint type of front suspension and new front engine mountings. The use of shorter body mounting brackets improves the frame-body strength relationship.
12-2 CHASSIS SHEET METAL
In line with the new, lower 1957 body, the chassis sheet metal has been completely restyled. Service operations such as hood removal, however, remain basically unchanged.
