13-1 LIFTING EQUIPMENT

The lifting procedures developed for 1957 Models will also apply to the 1958 Models. Cars equipped with Air-Poise Suspension may be handled in the same manner as coil spring jobs except as follows:

  1. Check for clearance when placing a car with deflated springs on the lift as road clearance is at a minimum.
  2. Never cause the system to become inflated while the car is being suspended on a lift. Inflation of the system will cause the center distance of the lower front spring seats to decrease thereby making them slip or jump out of the lifting pads.
  3. Make certain that the front lifting pad on the lift does not contact the portion of the front air spring that protrudes down through the lower spring seat.

13-2 EXHAUST EQUIPMENT

The Kent-Moore Monoxo-Flex non-crush Neoprene exhaust hose and tail pipe adapter released for 1957 and all past Models will work satisfactorily on the new 1958 exhaust pipes.
