In 1952, Buick offered two new convenience features:

Power Steering: Cars of the 1950s were big and heavy. Steering this big ship was sometimes a matter of strength. But Buick offered a solution. “Takes the Effort out of Steering but retains Feel of the Road”, said Buick.

Hydraulic Controls: Roadmaster models became even more luxurious. Windows and Front Seat and on Convertibles the Convertible Top were operated just by a fingertip.

The newly formed “Safety Group” provided basic protection features for the lower series.
