1956 Buick Production
The model year 1955 was the most successful sales year for Buick in the 1950s. The 1956 Buick production was almost 200,000 cars less. This struggle was not a problem of Buick. The whole car industry suffered due to market saturation. Buick tried to fight against it by offering more models. The Riviera, available as 2-door and 4-door, was the most popular body style by far.
The total production figure does not include commercial cars like police cars, ambulances and show cars like the famous 1956 Buick Centurion. This show car was built especially for the 1956 GM Motorama show.
